Today's late-ish hour entry is not because of bad things, yay! It's because this week I, Mouse, wrote a story and it's taken me all afternoon. I sat down today determined to hammer one out and by golly I did. It was a glorious process, unfettered by the specter of perfectionism and buoyed by this amazing magic cupcakes I was given.

Last week's tales were RULED by Wenchette, probably because I kept Pitchblende very busy with copy edits. Oh Noooooooo! Luckily, he is alive, so don't worry.

Let's get to it!

I guess since I'm Gaudy Mouse I'm alphabetically first. I wrote about a 2000-word story called The Dark, which basically was a worldbuilding exercise for the story I'm writing for "Neither Pink nor Grey". It's about people in the dark. It's about a lot of other things too, but not as clearly as the "people in the dark" thing because it's just a moment in their world. It might suck or be boring. I can't lie to you. (I hope it's not, though, because I'm inordinately proud of having written it without criticizing myself out of it.)

And then we have Wenchette's Cravings Chapter 45. An automobile ride fills in more blanks for Mirri, while also evoking the clash between her feelings about herself and Radu's feelings for her. Also, there's such great description! There is a hilarious part about an old woman, which was just brilliant. On the other side of the scale, I learned something about Marek that made me reconsider what I consider to be human. Such sympathy. So emotion. Wow. (Please don't beat me, anti-doge people!)

As always, if you enjoy a story, don't be afraid to leave a little feedback for the author. If you would like to share a story with us, leave a link in the comments below, and you'll find it in light(s)...blue as a link in next week's Roll Call!
