Greetings, travelers. Those lights on the horizon? Those are the star spawn of the Great Unnamed Ones making their escape from the crust of this world. Be wary; for children in distress often attract the attention of their parents.
Welcome to ThursdayTales.
This week we have some excellent fiction, so let’s dive right in.
First up, Caseyjonescaseyjones brings us the haunting Four Make it Home, in which five adventurous children go into the forest to see its guardian. I doubt Rob Reiner will be making this into a feel-good period piece anytime soon.
Next up, Kyzfrintin brings us Sub-Time: Chapter 4, in which our protagonist abandons his game of D&D, only to be recruited by a bombshell in a skintight Tron suit. Who just so happens to be from the future.
Finally, Ghost in the Machine brings us Last Flight of the Samson, in which the space program of an alternate timeline suffers a slight hiccup. Good thing they spent a couple of thousand hours in the flight simulator practicing hiccups!
Well, that brings us to the close of another ThursdayTales, folks, and quite possible one of my final entries into the series. Y’see, ol’ Smeagol has got himself a new job, one that is taking up a LOT of his time, so this week I’m going to converse with the powers that be and see about maybe transferring or sharing the duties with someone else here on TT. It’s been a wild ride and you all have been absolutely phenomenal. I mean that from the deepest, darkest tunnels of my being, where the star spawn slumber the black eons away.
